Video: Los Angeles faces bankruptcy

I can’t wait for The System to implode. Just wish I could get out of Dodge ahead of the bankruptcy tsunami. Kalifornia is heading towards Wisconsin times ten, except there ain’t no Scott Walker here to take on the union puppet masters.
Like I keep saying, things will get a lot worse here before they get any better and thats if they get any better. Anyone want to buy a circa 1955 ranch style tract home that needs a new roof and driveway? Priced to sell!
Richard Riordan said this 3 years ago-and HE is the one responsible since he gave away the 3%@50.
San Bernardino votes to files for bankruptcy protection!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
THE SKY JUST FELL TEDDY
You know Rex, smart people have been saying that the current RAGWUS system was going to meet up with Mr. Math and fold like a house of cards.
There is absolutely no certainty to events as long as there is a willingness to ponder what is happening. Remember these words as one California city after another files for bankruptcy. We need to get our spending under control at every level of government. The problem we have is not with too little taxation, it all comes down to the greedy RAGWUS members.
We have reached the point in our history as a state where the taxpayers recieve far less in return for the services we fund. While the feeders that dwell in these RAGWUS cabals rack in evil amounts of cash. I know of two FF’s and three cops that have retired, yet are still working and will for the next five years. They are having their pension money put in a tax-free fund which they recive when their five years are up. Who comes up with these scams?????
The usual gloom buddies out dancing on hurting the down and out government workers. you feel real good!
UH, the truth of the thieving RAGWUS is starting to roll. There is going to be a revision of what the takers are stealing from the makers. It’s too bad that greed creeped into the minds of the RAGWUS, we were once the greatest state in the U.S.
Carpetbaggers from Michigan moved in and ruined your right wing nightmare.
Good lord– another non information non news piece that says nothing—- then the usual doom lads—–zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
and I loved the “unfunded” pension throw away line—– like it’s all due today! Like no reform is happening……zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Read a little about the city of vallejo BK,lol!!!!
Vallejo was in a similar bind when it filed for bankruptcy four years ago. Now Mayor Osby Davis wonders if the painful road to recovery was worth the cost. The Bay Area city of 112,000 was forced to shut down two of its fire stations and today fixes just 10% of its crumbling roads. Its workforce, including police and firefighters, is about half its pre-bankruptcy size and those people left are “insanely” overworked.
Meanwhile, Vallejo spent $10 million on legal fees. It ended up with employee contracts that Osby thinks the city could have struck more cheaply if it had stayed out of bankruptcy court and turned to the bargaining table.
His advice to other cities on the financial brink? Don’t do it.
I’m sure there’s a few more “GHETTO” cities that the politicians have mis- managed financially, but overall the majority of cities in california will not go the BK route!!!Btw rex, police and fire are essential services that will never really be slashed like you want!!!!
Dyspeptic says,
there ain’t no Scott Walker here to take on the union puppet masters
========================
That’s right Dyspeptic,No Scott Walker here!! Unlike Gov Walker our Gov has a college degree and is not in the pockets of big business private sector puppet masters! Hey Dys, why did Scott Walker leave out police and fire in his pension and collective bargaining reform???
Hey Brian Calle,
Where’s the story on L.A county passing their budget? Balanced,no cuts!! There are many more cities like that to!!! But hey,the “”CHICKEN LITTLE”" Doom and Gloom is much more up your ally!!!!!!
NTHEOC: Thanks for the info that Gov. Walker doesn’t have a college degree. I didn’t know that. My opinion of him has risen greatly.

County? City? Which are you talking about? You mixed them up.
As to Los Angeles *City*, Brian Calle has written about it being near bankruptcy, quoting former Mayor Richard Riordan:

But so has the liberal Huffington Post:

I was talking about LA county. I was just wondering why all that is talked about is the negative, yet there are cities and counties that are balancing budgets and not cutting services to. And I still would like an answer as to why the watchdogs poster child Scott Walker left police and fire out of his reforms? Hmmmmmm!!!!
NTHEOC—- LOL— good questions— of course these guys LOVE to ignore that point!
Oh my…
yes, good point showing LA City 1 year from complete BK meltdown
