It might be said Prop 23 was offered to CA too early, but several things are apparent. First, those in the state legislator who passed the GWSA/AB32 did not read the bill and/or were ignorant and/or uneducated in the layers of devastation this would have on the CA economy. Second, the public was not truthfully educated about AB32 and its overreaching regulation. Third, the campaign to defeat Prop 23 was led by none other than Van Jones (Ella Baker Center) and California Environmental Justice. The travesty of the message Van Jones and his posse brought to the "neighborhoods of color" (their labeling)was out right lies. As always, the Right was outdone in dollars raised by the Left (over 3 times)--thus producing "untruthful" but powerful "FUD" advertising--(fear, uncertainty and doubt). In the end, the implementation of Prop 23 had nothing to do with big oil but everything to do with devastation to those always suffering first....the poor. Of course Van Jones & Friends have been quick to present solutions to that problem by demanding the tax payers pick up the tab for the higher electric rates, etc. impacting the poor, while the tax payer tries to figure out how to pay their higher electric, water, gas and food bills.

Excellent, John. Somewhat ironic is that, always at the forefront and ahead of the world, California was offered Proposition 23 just too early. I wonder what voters would think if now proposed to do away with the albatross of the "Global Warming Solutions Act." Besides none of the 'Solutions' act to even help...they make it worse. Oh, wait...maybe the nitwits will claim the higher emissions caused by CARB's implementation will protect us FROM cooling... ;-)
