Not sure that I see any heated political races the coming year at least in terms of people running for office. However I can see some heated battles when it comes to gay marriage or marijuana legalization.

Well we need a candidate like David Cruz- Thayne who can truly represent both democratic and republican views and who is not a career politician. We have people like Strickland and Elton who have done nothing but constipate the system and done nothing but in their own interest, people like Strickland who do nothing but get elected and collect pensions are exactly what the framers of this country were trying to prevent, I am disturbed that we continue to allow such wasteful people to make these choices for us about our future that's why we need someone like David to fight and properly represent us.

This analysis is so far off the mark it isn't funny. There are about fifteen people on both sides of the aisle that are considering running now that Elton is retiring. The most significant name on the Republican side is Michael Reagan who has been approached in the past by friends about running. He is the only candidate who could clear the field on the Republican side. If that doesn't happen, then about a dozen people may run, all with support from different factions in the Republican party. On the Democratic side, all of the serious candidates are waiting to see if Brad Sherman moves here which is more likely with Elton gone.

Interesting upcoming race to be sure! Wonder if the National Republican Party will assist in this race like in NY 23? Or have they just written off CA? Hope not! I wouldnt write off CA completely considering the economic factors whereby people will consider supporting a R.
