China Now Better Off than USA
I never thought I would read this headline from Gallup: “Chinese Struggling Less Than Americans to Afford Basics.” It was just 50 years ago that up to 46 million Chinese starved to death in Mao’s socialist Great Leap Forward. Now, having switched to capitalism after Mao joined Lenin, Marx, Trotsky and Stalin in Hell in 1976, Chinese doing better than we are. Meanwhile, in just the past 10 years our country and California have faded so fast under the socialist schemes of Bush-Obama-Schwarzenegger-Jerry Brown. Wild spending, taxing and regulating have done that, plus vast debasement of the dollar at the federal level. According to Gallup: “Six percent of Chinese in 2011 say there have been times in the past 12 months when they did not have enough money to buy food that they or their family needed, down significantly from 16 percent in 2008. Over the same period, the percentage of Americans saying they did not have money for food in the previous 12 months more than doubled from 9 percent in 2008 to 19 percent in 2011.” “Chinese are also struggling less to afford adequate shelter. Sixteen percent of Chinese say in 2011 there have been times in the past 12 months when they did not have enough money to provide adequate shelter or housing for themselves and their families. This marks considerable progress since 2008, when 21 percent of Chinese had trouble providing shelter.” Trading places. They’re going up, we’re going down. Both Republicans and Democrats are to blame for this mess. At least China had only one socialist party which, when it changed direction to capitalism, did so strongly. America has two socialist parties, donkeys and elephants, giving us the illusion of choice and freedom. I suggest taking a course in Mandarin. Oct. 13, 2011

John, thanks for speaking the truth by including Bush and Schwarzenegger. Listening to the Republican debates might lead the Republican choir to believe all our problems began with Obama.
Until the right rejects Bush and “compassionate conservatism” they offer no real vision out of our demise, much of which was caused by big government statist Republican policy.
