Mike, he's not saying they shouldn't be getting a pension. He's saying their pensions are too dang big, and they're getting a little too used to it. This applies to EVERY government position as well. And what's this about cops guarding our lives? LOL Way to exaggerate there! They're not soldiers getting blown up and shot at every day(maybe in Oakland/Berkley). They spend most of their time handing out tickets, and the rest is spent responding to disturbance calls. I'm not saying they have the easiest jobs in the world here, but they're not the champions people make them out to be either. The rest of your statement is dead on though. All that mess needs fixing too!

Ha ha, cops are stupid and don't deserve a pension for guarding your life.

I mean, that's what you're saying right?

If you're really worried about pension explosion, then draw some cartoons about the explosion of California's prison population and the required prison guards to watch them, all due to overly paranoid drug laws passed in the 1980s and the moronic 3-strikes law which puts non-violent offenders behind bars for 60 years regardless of what their crimes are. It's these laws which have made California's Prison Guard Union the strongest group in state politics and have exploded both our budget (because of the prison building spree we've been on for 40 years) and the pension problems we have.

Don't blame cops. They're outnumbered 3-1 in our state now.
