The these about being unfriendly to business has some truth to it, of course, but if you compared the job gap with that of other states, they’re all over the map. Is Nevada unfriendly to business? South Carolina? Is the People’s Republic of Vermont a good place to set up your corporate headquarters?

You might also point out that the experience of Spain is that each new ‘green’ job costs 2.2 regular jobs.

John, you might also note the disparity in jobs created by “green” economy (last count ~125,000) to the number of unemployed in CA (U1~2.26 million.) and that average wages in “green sector” are much lower than in traditional trades.
