After the dismal governorships of Wilson and Arnold Schwarzenegger-Kennedy-Shriver, the GOP should just fold up its tent and let some other party take over the opposition.

Democrats, however much I disagree with them, at least work for what they believe to be the best interests of their constituents. Republicans blab all sorts of small-government rhetoric in campaigns, but then, once elected, stab their own faithful in the back.

Republicans fell from 34.6 percent of California’s electorate during the last gubernatorial primary four years ago to 30.8 percent in April. The latest number also is slightly lower than Republican registration during the 2008 presidential election.

Democratic registration increased from 42.7 percent of voters in 2006 to 44.6 percent in April. It also was up slightly from Democratic registration in 2008.

I’ve said it before: In a predominately progress environment, changes to the constitution are dangerous.
Republicans would be wise to go carefully with this lest they be blamed for the ‘unforeseen consequences’ any change might bring. Probably WOULD bring.
