For all of the high-powered go nowhere talking, why is it that no one speaks of the genuine opinions of the accountants up and down this goof-ball-state. They actually do the accounting, payrolls and income tax returns of those attempting to make a living and continue to provide for the much needed labor force, care to make a guess how much they could tell the folks, as we all watch our State spiral down the drain.

Try interviewing some of the professionals who are on the front lines, from the large, median to small firms who are actually working in the trenches doing all that is possible to help their clientele stay afloat. That is where the real answers to most of California’s problems, can be found in a hurry.

Then let’s give some real thought to all of the dead weight that is being funded and referred to as Government Employees, who by the thousands are collecting bloated pay checks to do nothing but sit. Then even those who are working at some desk are now only required in many Government Institutions to type 35 words per minute, with accuracy being no importance. It was not all that long ago that a minimum of 60 (Accurate) WPM was the minimum. You just have to love the “lowest-common-denominator”.

This is an absolutely endless subject and just possibly that’s why the problems never get rectified, “nobody wants to do anything about it, so much as they just want to talk about”.

Maybe so, StevefromSacto. But despite supposed rosy predictions, the state budget still is imploding. The California and U.S. economies are not recovering from the Bush Depression. When U.S. taxes rise next year -- because Bush stupidly limited the duration of his tax cuts, and Obama won't extend the cuts -- the Bush Depression is only going to get worse.

Choices will have to be made. There is great agony ahead for millions of Californians. This state and nation have been misgoverned by so long -- mainly by Republicans like the Bushes and Arnold -- that there is no easy way out.

"The nonpartisan — and, in my experience, professional and objective — Legislative Analyst."

OK, John, here's what the Leg Analyst has to say about the governor's proposal to severely cut or eliminate the IHSS program.

"...the complete elimination of IHSS (or the dramatic reduction in eligibility proposed in the Governor’s budget plan) would likely lead to offsetting costs that more than outweigh the savings from its elimination..." Legislative Analyst's Office (LAO), January 2010
