Sad but true.  With all the talk about the power of unions, people seem to forget the enormous strength of what I like to call the &quot;vengence lobby,&quot; which will smite down any politician who dares mention rehabilitation or redemption. If the &quot;vengence lobby&quot; had its way, there would be no parole, sentences would never be completed, and due process would be erased from the law books. In their eyes, there is no such thing as &quot;paying your debt to society.&quot;]]></description>
