@2 StevefromSacto ... should realize that the California's finances already are no longer controlled by governors, the Legislature, or the voters. Its finances are controlled by the New York bond houses that hold the markers on the state's credit. The bond houses are ordering cuts, just like they ordered Clinton to make federal cuts back in 1993. (The story is in Bob Woodward's book "Agenda," about Clinton's first years.)

Something similar is happening to Greece. The German banks own the credit on the Athens government, which also maxed out its loans. Now the alternative is massive government cuts or bankruptcy. The story is here: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/comment/7119986/Should-Germany-bail-out-Club-Med-or-leave-the-euro-altogether.html

Even liberal Democrat Bill Lockyer realizes this now that he's the state Treasurer and not a spendaholic leader of the state Senate. He recently warned that the state's wild spending on pensions will lead to bankruptcy: http://calpensions.com/2009/10/23/treasurer-lockyer-pensions-will-bankrupt-state/

Fiscal reality is hitting the state hard. Well, at least the weather still is nice.

At least Poizner understands the importance of conservatism is moving the state forward into restored properity. I'll vote for any candidate that understands that lowering taxes increases revenue.

And he isn't praising self-proclaimed, 'revolutionary communists' like Meg does, (Van Jones).

Two multimillionaires slugging it out. Both want to throw thousands of people out of work and cut what's left of the social safety net to shreds. No liberal could create a better working parody of the Republican party in California.

"best time to illicit big changes and reform state government."

Illicit = contrary to accepted morality; illegitimate: contrary to, or forbidden by law

Elicit = to draw or bring out or forth; educe; evoke

Please, can we show some grasp of the English language, or editorial standards?

If candidate Whitman does contact you guys, can you pin her down on her position on "climate change" legislation? I know she does not support California going it alone. But when I heard her on Chris Reed's show, she supported it at the national level. I am just curious if she has re-thought her position on this in the wake of climate gate.

Oh yah, can you get her to swear an oath that she would veto the single payer health plan working its way through the legislature?

That is it for now. Keep up the good work!
